What is Food Tech ?

Food technology is the branch of science that compact with all the techniques and activities involved in production, processing, preservation, packaging and quality management etc.,

It’s all about learning the principles and developing the skills in transforming raw material to consumable form of food..There is an extensive research involved in making food items from raw to edible form..

Food science is applying the basic sciences and engineering to study the physical , biochemical and chemical nature of foods..It’s all about learning the principles and developing the skills via practice..

Eligibility Criteria

Students can opt this food technology course in both UG & PG levels..

To pursue the course at Undergraduate level, candidate should clear his/her +2/Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, Biology ( PCB/BiPC) or Mathematics ( MPC ) with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks or any other minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by a college / University..

To pursue the course at Postgraduate level, candidate should have a B.Sc. / B.Tech / BE ( in Food Technology / Nutrition / Home sciences ) degree with a minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by a college / University ..

If you are even more interested in research field..You can also go for Ph.D level..after your post-graduation..!
